SMS supplies a full range of heavy-duty vacuum cleaners to suit a variety of applications. Commercial and industrial workplaces often require specialist vacuum cleaners to safely recover materials to safeguard individuals. However, industrial vacuum cleaners differ from commercial vacuum cleaners in that they are given extra resiliency to work in an industrial environment as opposed to working in commercial spaces (for commercial applications, view our commercial vacuum cleaner range). Heavy Duty Industrial vacuum cleaner models are generally split into the following categories;

Single Phase Industrial Vacs: This type of vacuum cleaner is primarily used for non-continuous maintenance cleaning tasks to maintain dry areas as well as recover wet materials from floors, equipment, machinery and overhead pipes etc. with optimum efficiency and suction power.

Explosion-Proof Industrial Vacs: Designed for vacuuming in specifically zoned ATEX environments where potentially combustible dust is being recovered or has the potential to be recovered, for example: flour, cereals, sugar, starch, animal feed, coal, light metals, plastics and textiles.

Hazardous Dust Industrial Vacs: Divided into three categories of low-risk, medium-risk and high-risk hazardous dust, these vacuums ensure correct filtration when recovering dust that is considered a risk to health.

Oil & Swarf Industrial Vacs: As the name would suggest, these vacuum cleaners have been developed for engineering-type industries that are recovering either large volumes of oil, swarf or both and may want the ability to extract valuable liquids for recycling.

Three Phase Vacuum Cleaners: Three-phase industrial vacuum cleaners are designed for continuous use with highly durable motors. Suitable for integration into process machines, for use in fixed installations, or for general heavy-duty cleaning in an industrial environment. The three-phase industrial vacuums can be equipped with side-channel blowers to provide higher efficiency including improved vacuum rates and reduced airflow.

The above industrial vacuum cleaners are those most commonly used by the majority of industries, however, there are also some very specialized vacuum cleaner units such as pneumatic conveyors, and compressed air vacuums. All the above types of heavy-duty industrial vacuum cleaners can be tailored to meet specific site requirements with a range of add-ons and accessories to clean a variety of surfaces. SMS can supply high-reach cleaning kits, extension poles, floor tools, end tools, HEPA and NOMEX filters, safe bag systems, and more, to ensure a dirt-free, safe environment in your workplace.
